Overview

Grab some lift tickets and spend a weekend riding the exciting slopes in Wausau, Wisconsin. Granite Peak is about a 4.5 hour drive from Chicago. Just close enough to get away for a great ski trip. This winter resort offers high speed lifts and a bunny hill as well as intermediate and advanced runs. Don’t forget your helmet. If you’re feeling cautiously adventurous you can take a snowboard or ski lesson with their friendly staff and instructors.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Wind Chill. Twisted knees. Torn ACL. Broken face. Broken leg. What if you break your coccyx? What if the chairlift cable snaps? What if you run into a tree and have to go to the ER? What if your googles freeze up and you can’t see anything? What if you have to ride up the lift with a stranger. Will it be awkward?
